Being Present In The Process

Good Afternoon my brothers and sisters in Christ. We are in the second week of the new year and I pray you’ve spent your time thus far living Intentionally and with Purpose. I was recently listening to a podcast from a business coach I follow. She said something that really resonated with me. She said, “Your business is a baby. Babies aren’t born immediately.” It reminded me of one of my previous blogs, “Am I in Proper Position.” In this blog, I referenced how God showed me that I was in my incubation period. Incubation being in a state that provides optimal conditions for growth and development.

Yahweh was growing and developing me. He was also growing and developing my relationships, purpose, and business. Along with my long list of 2019 goals. I had to purpose in mind to take the time to “Be Present in the Process” while allowing Yahweh to continually grow and develop me. It’s so easy to want to microwave your goals, relationships, and purpose. Even when we know things come out better when they have fully developed over time. So let’s talk about just being present. As always, I pray that this blog inspires you to self-reflect and allow correction in areas where you may need an extra moment of Mindfulness.

The Word of God says,

“Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.”

Matthew 6:34

If you’re anything like me then you’ve already started working on your 2019 goals. Even though I’m a stickler for making a goal, and putting a date on it. I found myself thinking, “How am I going to reach some of these goals this year?” Then during my meditation time the Lord revealed to me that some of my goals are more about the progression towards the goal versus actually completing the goal before the end of the year. To be honest, I was relieved. I didn’t want to get so wrapped up in the completion part that I forget about the steps that need to take place before the finished product. My blog, business, and relationships all are things that require daily progression. Not everything will have a date of completion. Some of our goals are simply a continual progression of growth. That understanding alone should prompt us all to remove daily pressures and just focus on “Being Present in the Process” of our growth and development.

Meditation for me has always been about being present in a state of rest. Allowing my thoughts to be still in the moment. It reminded me not to take for granted my ability to be present in the midst of my to-dos. It reminded me to, “Slow Down.”

The Lord replied, “My Presence will go with you, and I will give you rest.”

Exodus 33:14

I encourage you to sort out your 2019 goals and acknowledge the ones that are about progression versus completion. I also encourage you to take the time to find a moment of rest in the midst of your process. Don’t be overwhelmed with completing things that you will forever be continually growing in. Allow yourself to feel and see how you’re evolving. Don’t diminish your level of growth by focusing on a finish line that isn’t there. Be Present in the Process. Blessings.

  1. Thank you for the encouraging post. Sometimes we put more pressure on ourselves than necessary. Our patience in the processes of life is a reflection of our trust in God and his timing. That’s why it’s very important for us to go to him for wisdom and knowledge.

    1. Thanks for the comment. You’re so right. Our patience in the process of life is a reflection of how much trust we have in God and HIS timing. That’s the key. We know that His timing is always right. Whether we agree with it or not. Always a pleasure to read your responses to the blog.

  2. Heyy Sis. Amazing post!
I agree with everything you’ve written. It’s so easy to want to focus on the destination and forget that the journey matters too.
This is such a beautiful reminder to be present in the process/journey.
And you are so right! Not all goals have finish lines. Some will FOREVER remain a JOURNEY.
    Blessings sis 😊❤

    1. Hey Sis. Sorry for the late reply. I’ve been busy busy. Thanks for taking the time to read the post. It’s so important for us to slow down sometimes. Focusing less on the end date and more on the process.
